    LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

    Grand Canyon West

Grand Canyon West is in close proximity to the Las Vegas metropolitan hub and involves a portion of Grand Canyon Rim that is located within the Hualapai Indian Reservation.  Grand Canyon West hosts a public access airport with a 5,000 linear foot airstrip.  The airstrip is limited to single and multi-engine aircraft with a maximum certified takeoff weight of 12,500 pounds or less.    Access to this location also includes ground travel via Mohave County Route 25 (Pierce Ferry Road).  Grand Canyon West is open daily and receives buses, chartered jeeps and other vehicles.

Hoover Dam and Lake Mead Recreational Area

The entire Lake Mead Recreation Area stretches 60 miles and includes Mohave Lake and Davis Dam. The Colorado River pours into Lake Mead, the largest man-made lake in the United States. The imposing 726 foot high Hoover Dam creates it. The area offers numerous water recreations including; boating, fishing, water skiing, river rafting, and swimming. Presently the bypass bridge is under construction, this should shorten the trip 15 to 20 minutes in each direction.

    Grand Canyon Caverns

210 feet underground are the most selenite crystals of any known cave in North America. The caverns offer an underground tour of the earth, as it existed 3 million years ago. This is a once in a life time experience, a must see!

    Historic Route 66

Kingman lies on the longest remaining continuous stretch (158 miles long) of Historic Route 66. Through the years Route 66 has had many names: The Main Street of America, the Mother Road, the Wire Road, and the Will Rogers Highway. This is perhaps the best-known highway in the United States. Cruising down Route 66 allows the traveler to experience many historic communities along the way.

Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix

All of these metropolitan cities are within one to several hours of KINGMAN. All three cities, offer all of the major league sports, theater, opera, arts, major entertainment, Disneyland, Pacific beaches, major motion picture studios, fine restaurants, and don't forget the major entertainment city in the world, the exciting city of Las Vegas!
